Following the successful conference held in Lund, Sweden in 2024, the 5th International Symposium on Fire Safety of Façades (FSF 2027) will be organised by the Department for Fire-Safe Sustainable Built Environment (FRISSBE) at the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG).

The symposium will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 16 to 18 June 2027.

The FSF series brings together researchers, engineers, industry professionals and regulatory experts working in the field of façade fire safety, providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge, research developments and practical experience.

The programme will include oral and poster sessions featuring fully peer-reviewed papers presented over the three days, as well as invited plenary lectures delivered by leading international experts in fire science.

The conference will focus on current challenges and advances in façade fire safety, bringing together research, testing practice, engineering applications, and regulatory perspectives. It will address the fire performance of façade materials and systems, mechanisms of vertical and lateral fire spread, developments in experimental and numerical methods, and the translation of research findings into design guidance and building regulations. The event aims to foster dialogue between academia, industry, testing laboratories, and policymakers to support safer and more resilient building envelopes.
